The Daytona Museum of Arts and Sciences presents GEM OR JUNK on Monday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. $10 at the door in the Multi-Purpose Room. Join Tom Davis, former resident and guest curator at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, as he discusses how to determine the real value of objects such as silver, crystal, paintings and intaglio. This lecture will help you understand the pros and cons of the basic types of paintings and prints such as oil, watercolor etchings, engravings and other media.

WHO REALLY WROTE AS WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE? Join us for an authorship lecture and a question and answer presentation by Ron Song Destro, producing director of the Oxford Shakespeare Company in New York City. Wednesday, April 30 in the Magnolia Ballroom at 7 p.m. Get your FREE admission ticket at the Resident Services Desk.

CLASSICAL MUSIC CLUB: Tuesday, April 22, 7 p.m., Clubhouse Library. The program for this meeting will trace the career of Maurice Ravel. Felicia Serrao will lead the presentation which will examine his life, his music and musical legacy.

ITALIAN POTLUCK! Thursday, April 24 at 6 p.m. in the Multi-purpose Room. $1/per person and bring a dish large enough for 8 to 10 people. This Potluck is limited to 80 people and very well attended so don't delay! Please sign up in the Activities Book.

SOLOS CLUB ACTIVITIES!

Please join us on April 22 for a Pancake Breakfast while communing with nature at The Sugar Mill in DeLeon Springs. Please call Barbara Rose at 386.279.0972 by April 16 to make a reservation. We'll meet at the Clubhouse at 9 a.m. to carpool.

On April 26, we're going to Spring Garden Ranch for lunch and to watch the Harness Race practices. Please meet at the clubhouse at 12 p.m. to carpool. No reservations are needed.

The solos are going on a Boat Ride on April 30 from Highbanks Marina. Please meet at the Clubhouse at 9 a.m. to carpool. $25 per person.

The Solos Club meets at the Clubhouse every Friday night at 4:15 p.m. for Happy Hour. Come and share some ideas and activities and meet other single neighbors. For more information please contact Margy at 386.228.2308.

TENNIS LOVERS: Poker Tennis Round Robin and Pot Luck on Sunday, May 4 from 4 to 6 p.m., $5 per person. REMINDER! VIAL OF LIFE PROGRAM: The Victoria Park CERT team, in cooperation with the Volusia County Sheriff's Department, is making FREE Vial of Life containers and instructions available to Victoria Park residents again this year. The Vial of Life Program is designed to provide emergency service personnel with time-saving medical information if their services are ever needed. The program is beneficial to persons of all ages. You may pick up your free Vial at the Gardens Clubhouse or the Community Management Office on Taylor Road.

If you already have a Vial of Life, please be sure to check the information on the form inside to be sure that it is accurate.

RELAY FOR LIFE® OF GREATER DELAND will kick-off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25 at DeLand Middle School. The Victoria Park Community is encouraged to attend to help support the Victoria Gardens and Victoria Park teams. This is a free fun-filled family/community event with food, games, prizes and live music! Cancer survivors are welcome to come at 6 p.m. and register for the survivor dinner and ceremony! COMMUNITY WIDE YARD SALE! Saturday, May 3, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. We will be advertising in two local newspapers! You may use balloons, flags or small signs to indicate that your home is open for sales! Please contain your yard sale items to your garage, driveway or yard. Please do not set up on sidewalks, parking spaces or in the road. Additionally, the Community Yard Sale is for selling gently used items. Multiple quantities of new items with tags, in packages, etc., are not permitted. COMMUNITY YARD SALE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION! At the conclusion of the Community Yard Sale at 2 p.m., HOUSE of HOPE & RESTORATION will be bringing three trailers through neighborhoods in Victoria Park and Victoria Gardens to collect any items you wish to donate from the yard sale. They will pick up all items that are clean and in working condition. Please place your donated items at the end of your driveway at 2 p.m. House of Hope & Restoration is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization and their main goal is to improve the quality of life for families that need a helping hand.
